MonkeyCatcher said:I think that the other author who sued Brown for plagiarism had more evidence to back up his lawsuit, and seeing as how he lost I don't think that the new case has much of a chance. I would have thought that sales of Holy Blood, Holy Grail would have boomed after The Da Vinci Code was released (it was mentioned more than a few times!), so surely these two guys should be grateful? At least Brown acknowleged the book throughout his story in this case.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me. I actually thought that Perdue had quite a good case for him, I might look up the court papers now that you mention it.Jemima Aslana said:Actually the other author, Lewis Perdue never sued Dan Brown & publisher. It was Dan Brown & publisher who sued Perdue to get him to stop talking about how The Da Vinci Code was suspiciously similar to Daughter of God and The Da Vinci Legacy. Also, I read the court papers, and the judge merely copy/pasted statements from Brown & publisher's court files. Not very smart, looks to me like the judge didn't really want to get into it.
