I try to read a little each night, but sometimes go a day or two without reading :(

Do you read every day, or have a set time you read at?

How long do you read for?
 
I also try to read every evening but when I'm exhausted I fall asleep after only about ten lines.

I can read from 10 minutes a day to several hours in a row (week-ends and holidays)
 
I try to read every day, my current book accompanies me to work so if i grab a lunch break then it comes out of the bag.

At home I read when ever I get the chance, ranging from a couple of pages on the loo to a good couple of hours soaking in the bath.

Reading in bed goes one of two ways, either I read a page and all the lines jumble and I fall asleep or I get really engrossed in what im reading and carry on into the small hours.
 
I read every day. At lunch and after the kids are in bed. I MUST have a book available. If I'm without a new one, I start to reread an old one.
 
Generally its during in the afternoon during lunch or in the evenings after the kids go to bed. Sometimes in the mornings too, if I get up early enough. In years past my wife and I would watch a movie or something but now sitting down and reading is a great do-together activity. Not good for sleep, to be sure, but those few hours in the evening a couple of nights a week are precious when down time is scarce.
 
Not as much as I would like to. I used to read a lot, but that was a long time ago. Now I read mainly during holidays and weekends.
 
As an English Lit student I'm generally encouraged to read as much as possible, unfortunately I tend to read novels that I want to, rather than those I supposed to be reading.

At the moment I'm totally engrossed in Lady Chatterly's Lover, whilsy supposed to be reading Sense and Sensibility!!!

The guilt lasts even when you're not a student anymore. I studied Lit too and I often feel I should read classics instead of, for instance, mysteries... :)

Teachers always seem to distinguish between "good" and "bad" literature so that you always feel you have to hide to read "popular" literature. But D.H. Lawrence is certainly acceptable by academic standards so you should be covered...

Sense and Sensibility is quite engrossing too, though passion remains quite repressed in Jane Austen's world ;)

I read every day, far too much. My typical daily reading schedule:

Drive to class(45 minutes): Read papers and class materials while driving all over the road

Classtime(3 hours-5 hours): Read class materials, nonfiction related to class

Work(7 hours): Read fiction between customers

After work(2 hours): Read nonfiction

With this manic reading I have managed to read 7 fiction and 3 nonfiction books in the past three weeks.
 
If jessica lives in a place like Dallas, Texas it would be pretty easy to read while driving. The average speed on major highways during a work day is about 12 miles an hour--but only for about thirty seconds at a time. I have commuted a bit in that traffic and it took me about an hour and a half to get to work most mornings--11.2 miles.
 
It's not that bad, I promise. My commute is on the interstate, and I put whatever I'm reading down if traffic ever starts really moving. I do have a professor who got pulled over because a trooper saw her reading while going 75. But I haven't gotten that skilled at it yet.
 
Jessica, have you tried audio books? I used to know a guy who listened to an enormous number of books every year in the car while commuting to work. I guess there are quite a number of selections out there--some even on CD. And they might be safer.
 
I actually did try audio books for a while, but I just couldn't get into the book. Too many distractions while driving caused me to miss parts of the story and such. For now my snatch reading of short pieces during my commute is working well. I promise I'm not speeding down the road with Wuthering Heights on the steering wheel or anything, I just read articles and other short pieces when traffic is jammed.
 
I read whatever is at hand, whenever I can. If there isn't a book or magazine handy, I'll read the label of a sauce bottle or something similar.
 
I read everyday if I can. Sometimes I have no time to read so I can make up for weekend!! I read everywhere as well.
 
I read every day - different books in different places though. One book at work, one in the upstairs toilet, one in the downstairs toilet, one in the bedroom, one by the kettle (waiting for it to boil is sooo boring without a book) :)
 
Very funny, Feanor, about one by the kettle. I can imagine!!! Usually I sometimes take the book to the pub for lunch. Also I take it to someone's house for the meal if I got bored and I end up read books. They know I am mad reader!!
