Howdy! I have written a book that no one reads!

I have written stories since I was a child, starting in first grade, ages ago.

Most of what I created has been reduced to ashes, as I seem to channel Poe in a world that no longer appreciates horror, gore, and terrifying endings. I recall a story I wrote in junior high about a picnic, and ants - which ate the picnickers, rather than the food. Sr. Anne Cecilia thought I was insane, and harangued my parents that my version of "creative writing" was unacceptable.

From there, it only grew worse, or better, depending on the observer.

In the early 2000's I wrote a short story, "The Jesus Chronicles - The Truth About Easter". I did it on a dare, writing a forty page novella over a weekend, depicting Jesus Christ as a vampire.

It was an instant hit among my Bohemian friends, one of which suggested that I expand the story.

Over the course of six months the Jesus Chronicles grew into a 600 page, epic monster, relating the exploits of Jesus Christ, the vampire, and his bloodthirsty consort, Mary the Magdalene. The couple first preyed on Jesus' enemies, and then, due to the vampiric Christ's peculiar worldview, preyed upon criminals, with Jesus instructing his undead girlfriend that they would only take the "unjust". Supporting characters appear, with Jesus befriending the Roman soldier who had nailed him to the cross, together with a surprise visit to his parents, Joseph and Mary, who become part of the story.

Attempting to market such an unusual tome went over like a lead balloon, with agents and publishers rejecting it outright, so I left it to molder in a computer for several years. Then it was suggested that I self publish the screed on Amazon, which proved to be equally worthless. I revised it and split it into two books, re-titling it as "Dark Resurrection".

Alas, I have only sold one copy to a man who reviewed it and enjoyed it. His review can be read on the Amazon site; he recommended it highly.

I am soliciting critique, as one man's opinion isn't worth a toss. I still write, and have several "Jesus Chronicles" sketches waiting to be integrated into several other books; a preview read of the book's first chapter is available gratis.
