Why are kids today dropping out of school like flies, more than before?
Did the school fail the students?--or did the students fail the school? If we have an poll (honest & unbiased) what do you think they'll say?

They will say the former.

As a child, we were sent to school, and instead of cultivating the creative thought process, we are shut down--we are reduced to memorizing and reciting songs--hindering the growth of the motivation that enjoys learning by subscribing us to test after test. We are not automatons; we are not robots; these days, that is what the school system believes. No wonder kids are dropping out: schools a bore.

Going to school, college, university, and getting a degree, won't determine if you are successful in life. We go there to get a career, blindly believing we'll eventually make a steady income, but not once do they show how. There is no need for college. No need for Associate, Bachler, Doctor's degree; a piece of paper will not determine how much money you make.
A piece of understanding is the root to our foundation--the basic knowledege of life: all you need is common sense.

But I will continue to read...

and write..

Is going to writing school going to help you become a writer?
Or reading books, indiscriminately? You decide.

It's common sense.

Presuming your thread just gets de-f**ked and not completely removed, eyez0nme, then my first question is, when you say you're 'pissed', do you mean that in the UK sense of 'drunk'? That's what it sounds like.

It's wildly enjoyable to presume that formal education ain't no good (though it's helpful in teaching you where to place an apostrophe, or how to spell 'knowledge' or 'bachelor'), but so what? Sadly these days many parents don't teach their children to read or count before they go to school, as mine did with me. So how could children read indiscriminately in this ideal world of yours, if they don't know how to read? How could they make it through regular tasks without being able to count? And is it really desirable that a generation should be raised with no knowledge of our past or the rest of the world?

And yes, those are rhetorical questions. If you don't know what rhetorical means, ask at school.

My man, I said college. So I'm sayin if you wanna drop out, drop out after you learn your basics (learn how to read and compute) maybe after high schoole graduation.

Btw, what I don't understand is--the books we read has the word "f word"

The movies we see has the word "f word"

The everyday life on this world people say "f word"

So I don't understand why if it's on a message board, it's *gasp*

hypocrisy.

;)

Actually you said school eleven times, and college just twice.

As for not saying f**k, it's a combination of politeness and observing the rules.

Again, I repeat:

School doesn't teach you how to make money.

It conforms you to become something you don't want to be--working in a cubicle.

School :thumbs down:

1. Nowhere did I mention elementary, junior high, high school.

2. Read it in context.

3. Don't put words in my mouth.

4. If you can't follow the rules in real life, how can you follow them here? Who's rules are you obeying? God's? or Man's?

eyez0nme, will you please refrain from posts filled with profanity. It's nothing to do with hypocrisy. This is a PG-13 forum and PG-13 movies certainly do not contain liberal useage of swear words and certainly not the F word which offends many people of all ages.

You mean whose. There's something else school could have taught you if you'd been listening.

I've wasted enough time on this most whackest of threads. This conversation is now closed.

Wait, you mean you don't make money working in a cubicle?

This is an international forum. Schooling has different structures around the world. Only one of those above means anything to me, for example.

3. Don't put words in my mouth.

Why not? It's obvious you need them. Although a gag may be the next best thing.

hahahahha

I feel really sad for you. Nitpicking on my grammer, when I delberatley do that so I can just make pricks like you mad. no, pissed.

and, dodging the question, changing the subject, come to la, and we'll talk

goodbye
