That it for the few ideas i had.

Fun thread! I'm going to have to come up with a few. In the meantime, no, I haven't read anything by Selby but I've always figured I ought to read Last Exit To Brooklyn or Requiem For A Dream... but you're saying you'd recommend The Demon before those?

Fun thread indeed! Feels like I just found a lovely greeting card in my mailbox amongst the bills and catalogs. Thank you!

I just might try that Black Company series. The cover looks mighty similar to Gene Wolfe's The Book of The New Sun.

I've put The Hunter in my amazon wishlist. I'm a huge James Ellroy fan, so it isn't much of a stretch that I would love this. Thanks, Thomas!

Now I'm going to recommend one for you, Stephen Hunter's Dirty White Boys. Look it up and see what you think.

Will be checking them out joderu.:)

I sent for:
Dreams of my Russian Summers, Leo the African..will have to investigate the Cheezburger one! I thought I requested The Rock of Tainos, but it doesn't show up in my interlibrary loan request tracking...which doesn't mean a blooming thing sometimes!

I wouldn't say that fantasy books are my obsession. But I might give her a try sometime in the future. Must get through my own books first.

I shall be very curious to here what you think of those ABC.

I thought it sounded good, which is why I'm wondering why it doesn't show up in my records with the library site. I distinctly remember looking it up and I thought I requested it. OTH, I think some urchins were talking to me at the same time, so who knows. I picked up Dreams of My Russian Summers yesterday, so if I DID request Rock of Tainos, perhaps it will come soon and I'll know...This 'thing' with the inter library loan site is not new, but it is bothersome.

Anyway, I asked her about Rock of Tainos and sure enough, I DID submit a request. Glad to know I'm not totally off my rocker:innocent:
