Yesterday evening I was watching Cash in the Attic, the empty-headed English show in which people sell their heritage to go on holiday cruises and buy new TVs, and they were auctioning off some very collectible books in a special book auction in London. (Agatha Christie, Somerset Maugham, etc.)
Well, Ian Richardson was in the buyers section, and he bought the most expensive book they put up for bidding.
He paid 1000 pounds for a 1st edition of Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass! He winked to make the bid.
It was so fun to watch. I lurve him.
