Im looking to start reading

I've just started to get into reading but im looking for kind of a specific style of book, im interested in books that are dark where you are in the head of a killer. Definitely no supernatural stuff,I don't really have anything to use as a example because ive only read one book so far and it was velocity by dean koontz, which I did like.

I know its not the same but I am watching the new Hannibal tv series and I really like it, ive also seen the movies and liked them. I don't really want to read the books now though after watching the moves because you just know everything that's going to happen.

Any recommendations would be appreciated thanks.

First of all you can't just dismiss the books because you have seen the movie. The movies are often so different from the books that sometimes you can't even see where the connection is.

Red Dragon by Thomas Harris is the first Hannibal Lector book

Followed by 'Silence of the Lambs'; 'Hannibal' and 'Hannibal Rising'.

If you are adamant about not reading the books you could try -

The Bone Collector - Jeffrey Deaver,
Any of the books by Jonathon Kellerman
Inspector Lynley Series by Elizabeth George
Alex Cross Series by James Patterson

Yeah I agree, movie adaptions of books are more often than not significantly different from the source material.
