Is this true? Have you read the news about this? A real sea monster?

Not heard of it. If it is a critter it'll probably turn out to be the rotted remains of a whale or something. But from the photo you can't really tell if it's an animal or not. The way it's hanging makes it look like a Jim Henson creation, but if it didn't then they wouldn't have shown the photo. To be really sure I'd need to poke at it with a stick.

It might be a monster. There are so many creatures in the deeps of our oceans that who knows WHAT lives there!!

Up until only about 10 years ago the enourmous sqid ( not to be confused with the smaller "giant" squid ) were thought to be a myth. Yet now known to be true, and grow up to 30 metres long!!!

Anyway, I hope they don't determine what that thing is. I think it's better live in our dreams than in our textbook.

Oh... and interesting pic! :)

*wonders if it make good soup* :D

i believe there are many creatures that humans have never seen or heard of. so being that, i could belive that pic.... and ive seen a literal movie about how they were looking for it. it was kinda boring, and talked funny.

From the link ControlArmsNow gave:
However, several lines of evidence, including lab results from tissue samples taken from the carcass before it was discarded, strongly point to the specimen being a shark, and most likely a basking shark. This should not be surprising, since basking sharks are known to decompose into "pseudoplesiosaur" forms, and their carcasses have been mistaken for "sea-monsters" many times in the past.
I repeat - it's a shark.

Cheers, Martin
