Harry Dresden is back in his 4th novel, and boy does he have a lot to do.

After losing his girlfriend to the vampires in Grave Peril Dresden has been down in the dumps. He stays down in his lab all day and tries to find a cure. He can't even remember the last time he took a shower. Just when it seems Chicago's only wizard is becoming a desperate man, a strange woman shows up and offers Harry a job he can't refuse. He has to find who killed the Summer Knight,to clear the winter queens name. Before Harry realizes it he's caught up in some deadly faerie politics, and the whole world rests on his success in this case. No pressure or anything...

Anybody who has read The Dresden Files knows it is more than just a fantasy series. It's a hard-boiled detective story, fantasy, horror. With awesome action and badassenry followed with very comedic dialogue. Dresden is also a very likable character. This series is becoming my favorite series very fast.

My rating on Summer Knight:
:star5:

This is one of my favorites in the series. I liked the inclusion of fae/fairies as it really broadened the universe these books take place in. Butcher's writing felt mature too. Not that he was ever a bad writer; just slightly unfocused and rough in the first two installments.
