Lookin' for some... Adventure?

Alright so as of late I've had a mad case of wanderlust. Unfortunatly I'm not currently able to go out on my own adventures but I'm trying to find some books about it. Sounds like Jack Kerouac's On The Road is a good one to pick up. I also just saw the preview for Into the Wild and I think I'll pick up that book as well. What else is there in those similar veins?

Oh and a side note, any one know of books regarding man's more primal nature? I assume it'd be something along the lines of sociology works and what have you but how man has vestigial traits now a days.

Not sure if any of that made sense but here's hopin' for some good responses :)

I'm currently reading Into the Wild (very good btw) but I was also recommended the book A Walk In The Woods. It's suppose to be along the same lines only a little lighter, I think.

Into the Wild > Into Thin Air >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> On the Road and any other "adventure" story. :)

I'm not familiar with the books you mentioned, so maybe my recommendation is way off. But my favorite adventure books are by Clive Cussler. Not all that deep or character-building, but definitely fun to read.
