I once read a book (probably in 2006) by a lawyer, which I can no longer recall it's name. Here's what I can remember;

  • It had a green cover.
  • The author was a lawyer working in Dallas/Texas.
  • On the blurb he mentioned something about wanting to depict the situation of the law field in Dallas/Texas.
  • The main character was a male lawyer.
  • I think the setting was California.
  • *i think* he eventually gets bankrupt at the end.

PS. I'll update the thread once I get more information.

Thanks in advance

  • Something to do with real estate in Texas/Dallas.
  • His daughter was mentioned quiet alot.
  • *I think* he started of in low class law school then became really successful.
  • His buddy, another lawyer, didn't have as much luck and ended working in the suburbs.
  • He meet his wife after the fame, hence she was mainly after his money.

I think the book you are looking for is The Color of Law: A Novel by Mark Gimenez.
Published 2006

“A partner at a prominent law firm is forced to choose between his enviable lifestyle and doing the right thing. Former college football star Scott Fenney has worked his way to the top of the heap at the Dallas firm of Ford Stevens. But when Clark McCall, wayward son of a Texas politician, gets himself murdered after a night of booze, drugs, and rough sex, Scott is assigned to defend the prime suspect, a heroine-addicted hooker named Shawanda Jones. The powers that be want her convicted--and Scott's future at the firm may depend on it. But unfortunately for Scott, Shwanada claims she's innocent, and he believes her.”

thanks alot :)

what's the name of female writer who (typically) writes medical based thrillers? i think she gave up her profession as a doctor to write.

I don't think it's either of them, (judging by the photo) I believe the author was Asian---as in Japanesse.
