Looking for a book

I read a fiction novel many years ago about a pair of American civilian light aircraft pilots. They found themselves on a Caribbean island and were convinced by the locals to fly an old Lockheed Constellation airliner to safety to allow the locals escape a coming hurricane. They had never flown such a large airplane before but managed to do it successfully. I can't remember the title or the author.
Has anyone heard of this book?
