I really hope someone can help me find a book I read as a child. The story was based on two sisters who both loved to ice skate however because of money restrictions only one was allowed to have lessons.
The other sister who was a bit clumsy made friends with a girl in a wheelchair who encouraged her to teach herself to skate and enter the same competition as her sister. I think they made a costume and somehow found the money to buy a pair of ice boots and she skated in the competition. I think she may even have won.
