Feeling contemplative recently. Hope you all don't mind being my forum for catharsis.

You're gone and I never knew her.

I tried to ask
But you couldn't answer
My questions
Too painful
Evoking sweet memories left behind.

But I wanted to know.
Why didn't you see?

Now you're gone
And I'll never know
The truth behind her smile
I should have made you answer.

Too late now.
I've lost you both
And I'll never know.

Poetry simply isn't my thing. So, it doesn't do much for me (hey, you wanted honesty, you got it :)). That said, this is mainly due to me not really being able to fully appreciate poetry, and not (repeat not) to your lack in creating it.

Cheers

Thanks, Wabbitt.

Martin - no problem. Appreciate any comments.

I'm really a novice at poetry and it shows. The above was just something that came very quickly, so I wanted to get it down.

You're gone and I never knew her.

I tried to ask
But you couldn't answer
My questions too painful
Evoking sweet memories purposely left behind.

But I wanted to know.
Why didn't you see?

Two photographs
Not enough to know the person
So much like me, yet not me
We could have been sisters.

Now you're gone and I'll never know
Beyond the shape of eyes and mouth
What part of her is in me
I should have made you answer.

Too late now.
Both of you lost
And I'll never know.

I have tried several times in order to fathom what was beneath this. Interpretations, interpretations...

sometimes, I fancied how wonderful and blessed would it be if i could have the chance to learn something from your wisdom of life, truly speaking.

I was hoping that you'd interpret it the way you want. It does have special meaning to me, but I wanted it to be a bit ambiguous for the reader. Poetry is not my forte, so maybe it's too ambiguous?

Thanks for taking the time to respond 'crystal. :)
