Hi all, I'm new here so i figured i'd start this off with a series i haven't really seen mentioned in here. if you haven't guessed from the title its the magelord series. i wanted to get everyones reactions to this series i thought personnally it was really good overall but i really didnt care for the second book. ...

also i wouldnt mind some suggestions on what to read next i've read alot of books like jorden, eddings, earthsea, david b coe, fiest, brooks, Joanne Bertin (wish she would write another book in the dragonlord series), King, pierce, throne of kings, lol ya i've read a ton of fiction and im kind of stuck where to go next any help would be appreciated

I haven't read this series - who's it by?

Anyway, the obvious recommendations would be the top three epic fantasy writers at the moment:
Steven Erikson - Malazan Book of the Fallen (starting with Gardens of the Moon) - epic in scale, well written, imaginative and unpredictable. It should particularly appeal to you because unlike the other two I'm going to mention, it's high magic and combines a lot of more traditional fantasy elements, but in a new way. Don't be put off by people saying that it's too complex. Yes, it's complex, but it doesn't worsen the series, and by the second book in the series you can understand most things in it. Until I read Erikson, Feist was my favourite author.
George RR Martin - A Song of Ice and Fire (starts with A Game of Thrones)
R Scott Bakker - The Prince of Nothing (starts with The Darkness that Comes Before)

Without knowing which aspects appealed to you of those books, it's hard to say which others you would enjoy, but with some of the classic authors like Fritz Leiber, Jack Vance, Michael Moorcock, Robert Howard and JRR Tolkien, you can't really go wrong.
