Yeah, (s)he's absolutely right. The game is amazing. I now know what you mean about buying a Pegasus now aswell! I've bought one myself. She's amazing!!! I've got Elf-Grade Sooty Equipment [Guild Hardened] aswell. I think I'm doing pretty well. Are you in a Guild?
 
Wow man, your vocabulary is three times the size of mine, remember! I don't know what a MUD is!

The game is basically a Browser-Based RPG though. I think that's what you call them anyway. You create your character at the start (Human, Elf, Dwarf, Troll, etc.), set a speciality for yourself (mine's Nature), then you head off into the Forest and kill creatures for experience. It's pretty hilarious at times aswell. I don't want to give anything away though because it'll spoil it. You can get a job aswell to earn yourself money and get a good reputation by working hard. You can also buy yourself a Horse which helps you out in battle. I think the aim of the game is to kill the Green Dragon but I haven't managed to find him/her yet. But it's not over once you have killed him (apparently) because you earn a title and you can then unlock other areas of the game. It's pretty amazing though. You should check it out. I don't know if I've done it justice with that summary really. It's that good!

Yes I'm with "The Evil Dead" Guild. I had my first Dragon Kill yesterday but at the moment I'm getting a little bit bored because the game is so easy. I'm playing a German version alongside and there aren't as many features which makes it more difficult. By the way I'm a Troll with Dark Powers. LOL

OK, thanks for the explanation! :) By the way, MUD means Multi User Dungeon and it an onlilne multi player game world. The interface is all in text.

Anyway, the game sounds good so when I have a little more time then I will check it out!
 
Nice one about your Dragon Kill, Gizmo! I don't even know where he is! Your guild looks pretty good aswell. You have quite a lot of members. There are only 7 members in my guild! Hehe. It's pretty good though. You get 20,000gp and 200 Gems when you join.

What's your home village by-the-way - with you being a Troll and all? I'm in Dracondor Village. I'm just curious because I don't know if everyone is based there or not.

I think I'll check out that MUD you're talking about Mr. W. Sounds pretty cool. :D

Yeah, it is cool!!! But it's MUD(S) and not mud :) Mud is the type of game it is. Imagine something like everquest but with text and you get the idea. All games like everquest and so on are just graphical muds. I actually prefer the text based muds as they can boast HUGE worlds, change and expand in the time it takes to add text or a little code, and the text leaves more to the imagination :)

There are all kinds of muds to play. There are SF, Fantasy and so on. To play a mud you will need a client. You can download many clients for free. I use DDEMUD client

You can play the game that I used to be into. It's kinda hack and slash but they have a large player base ( normally about 100+ people playing at any given time! ) and it's just a lot of fun! The world is HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE and there are quests, items and monsters galore! Take a step into the world of Materia Magica For some great fantasy role play action!!!

Actually, I really want to get back into that. SIGH... I will. Recently I have been working a lot but that is set to change in the next couple of weeks and so will have a LOT more free time on my hands! HORAY! :D So, will get back into mudding and also would like to get back into paper and pencil dungoens and dragons role play :)

Yeah, absolutely - cheers for that Mr. Wabbit. I'll check those out. I haven't played Everquest though so I'm not 100% sure of what I'm letting myself in for. I want to get into Paper & Pencil Dungeons and Dragons. I was reading up on it the other week. I've never played it though. It sounds amazing. Really creative and all that lot. I don't even know what you're supposed to do though really. All I know is you create your own world on paper and explore around it and battle people (and creatures?).

Lies, that game is pretty crazy. I didn't know what to do at first at all. I'm not even certain I'm doing it correctly now either. Are you supposed to pick the guys up and drop them to kill them? That's what I ended up doing anyway. Congratulations on your score.

Yeah, pencil and paper RPG is the best you can get. No computer game with EVER get close to it. You normally need a rule book to set out the rules of the world you are running, players, dice, and lots of imagination :) It's really hard to describe to somebody that has never played. The best I can tell you is that if you imagine free form theater with rules and dice to keep the fantasy world and story fair and consistant.

Actually, just been searching the net and think I have found a group playing table top RPG near me! They actually are in ( long ) but walking distance! Close! I just emailed them to see what games they are running. Emailed a couple of other people too to see if they are interested in starting up a new group. I would like to be a player again but I prefer to to rum the game :) I like the powe... I mean :D I like the creative side of making a world and a story :)

You've outdone yourself. Materia Magica is absolutely fantastic! I don't know if anybody's noticed, but I haven't been on this damn forum since you told me about that game. MUDs are so amazing! It's the closest thing to having your own part in a book that I've come across. That's how much I like it anyway. When you first told us all about MUDs I thought they sounded absolutely amazing, but when I started playing Materia Magica, it completely surpassed my expectations! Good work dude! :D

I'm playing myself!!! Yesteday, I started playing at around 5 and did not stop until 3am :eek: And been playing it lots today! Started this morning and played until I had things to do and then continued!

Although... always make time for a bit of book forum ( my other addiction! :D )

Hmm... sorry to ignore everyone in here except Mr. Wabbit, but:

I'm an Elven Bard called Miblo and I'm Level 25. I'm in Rune at the moment aswell. I took a ship over to Sigil and then onto Pirate's Cove the other day but I decided to come back to Rune to do Quests, etc. Also, I can actually kill stuff around Rune. I'll add you to my 'Notify' when I get on. :D

Im lv 16 now! I have not been to pirates cove but sounds great :D I may enlist your help. I found a dungeon that needs to be explored by some brave souls!

I found an island the other day. I just jumped into the ocean from Rune and went south. There is some kinda strange city there but I never got to see it as I was killed :eek:

I think I might be getting too involved with it. I'm starting to talk to the NPCS! Yesterday I was fighting a Rune city guard and trading insults and threats as we battled. OK, I'll be fine. I will just keep repeating that it's not real :D

Yeah, I saw you quickly the other day on my 'Graaar is currently online' thing, but you left too quickly for me to say 'How do you do?'. :D.

I'm not 100% sure about my multi-classing yet. I'm still quite a way off though, but I'm thinking about being a Ranger. I haven't read up on any of the classes besides Bard though, so I don't know exactly what each one is all about.

I had a horrible Quest yesterday though. Agrippa sent me to the Thorne Desert and I had no idea where that was! So I yelled for help and this guy told me I'd be best to take the Worm to the desert, do the Quest, then run to Lowangen (which it turned out, wasn't too near to the Desert), then get a balloon back to New Rigel, then run back to Rune to complete my Quest. So I got the Worm to the Desert, did my Quest, ran to Lowangen, then I realised I couldn't afford the 10,000gp Balloon Fare to get back because I'd opened a bank account and put all my money in that the day before! So I was stranded on the far North-East of Sepharia, with no way of completing my quest, and no quick way back to Rune. So I decided to try killing a few women around the place in Lowangen to raise the funds, but 3 of them ganged up on me and killed me. Anyway... I ended up having to walk all the way back, but on the way I decided to go to the Tower of Art (because I thought it sounded like quite a nice place). But to get there you have to climb this great big spiralling mountain, and you have to rest loads on the way up. And, when I got there (surprise, surprise) it wasn't great at all. It was full of evil creatures and I decided to come all the way back. So, today I braved an hour-and-a-half walk all the way from the Tower of Art back to Rune. Blimey, I was pleased to get back to Rune.

Anyway, I'll have to start telling myself it isn't real! :eek:

It sounds like you have had fun exploring! Have you been to the dungeon to the west yet? You know when you take the road from Rune to the north. You come to a kinda crossing with a signpost there. The sign tells you where things are and it says that there is a dungeon to the west! I have not been there but want to. I need some people to go with me because it's probably very dangerous lol Have you been???

I found an island yesterday. I think I exploited a bug in the game :D I jumped off the pier in Rune and headed south. I finally game to an island. There is some kinda strange city there but I don't know what it is. ( I died ) I started fighting some sireen. I was kicking the crap out of her when she used this song on me and killed me INSTANTLY! Scary! Anway, I want to explore there.

Yeah, he can send you on some real tough quests! Damn Agrippa!!!! lol

I have not been on today. Had to go shopping and been writting some emails to people. One of them in Spanish which takes me bloody hours as I have to look up many words lol Im gonna watch a film now but I will prob be on there a lot on the weekend so prob see you around in the "real" world :) lol
