hey everyone, i had a great idea, lets share our taste of music, fav songs, stlyes, or even fav instruments. me i love latin cuban music if i want to get in a good mood, but if i want to relax i go for classical guitar or piano. my fav pianist is mozart, my fav song is its a wonderful world, my fave instrument the cello, its such a romantic beautiful deep sound. :)

My favorite music is Classical and Instumentals, I love movie scores and instrumental soundtracks.
Favoite songs:
Carmina Burana: Fortune Empress of the World -- Orff
The Four Seasons--Spring: Allegro -- Vivaldi
And lately I've repeated the Die Another Day Instumental -- Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

I like noise rock, it has a dreamy quality to it that I think is mysterious. you've got bands like the velvet underground, godspeed ..., sonic youth, or my bloody valentine--anything with distortion pedals and heavy monitor feedback. my favorite album, ever, is sister by sonic youth, though, my favorite song is from a different album of theirs (washing machine), it's called 'the diamond sea'. people used to flock to lollapalooza to hear the twenty minute improvisation at the end of the song. it's awesome.

I like a little bit of everything ( depending on mood ) But I would say my favorite musical genres are classical and Spanish/latin ( Flamenco, tangos, salsa, merengue )

Classical - Schbert, Vivaldi, Morzart ( but only for his requiem his other stuff is overated and repetitive ), ludivicio eniadi and many more composers.

Opera - Marriage of Figero and Barber of seville

Spanish/Latin - Jarabe de Palo ( spanish rock band and the best band in the world :D ) Camaron de la isla and Jose Merce ( Flamenco ) - Especially Como Aqua and Al Alba! Flamenco is great. So full of passion. I love it!

and Olga Tanon and Celia Cruz ( salsa/merengue ) - This kind music is great. Has such rhythm! It's so alive! I can't listen to this without wanting to dance, shake my body! It ALWAYS makes me smile! how can you not smile when you are listening to this kinda music! How can you not want to bounce and move your body! :D

Other bands/music that I like Counting Crows ( wonderful band ), Mazzy Star, Enya ( really beautiful ), sheryl crow, and again, quite a few more.

I love soundtracks and instrumentals....the Gladiator Soundtrack being my favorite soundtrack. I also love Enya and David Arkenstone.

When out driving around, I usually listen to country music or Christian rock depending on my mood. Soundtracks don't work in the car, because of the variable volumes used in each song..I either end up not hearing the song, or being blasted out of the car by the volume.

I tend to hate pieces that prominantly feature the piano, as I was forced to take lessons for 10 years and I still hate to hear it played alone. I quit lessons and haven't really played since. I quite enjoyed playing the clarinet, but I don't think it is the most beautiful instrument to listen to...that honor (for me) would go to the violin. I love to hear it played in any music, from classical to folk to country and blue grass. I would love to learn to play, but I don't have the time or money to learn.

I like any kind of music. I like bands such as Madness, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, The Offspring, Gorrilaz, Simple Plan. So these music groups might show what kind of music taste I have. I also like chillout music.

Anything that makes me feel like dancing. Which, by the way, is never 'dance' music.

I love anything featuring a saxophone :)

I like Vivaldi and also Mozart, mostly I listen to lots of vintage bebop, Davis, Monk, Mingus, Gillespie, and all the Coleman Hawkins and Lester Young I can get my hands on.

Lately, I've been listening to The Weakerthans' "Reconstruction Site" and Jewel's "Pieces of You."

Finally (don't mind the groans from Mr. Enema), a certain British singer/songerwriter with curly hair and shades -- after all, I didn't choose "Irene Wilde" at random.

"Gonna be somebody, some day..."

Irene Wilde

I like such an eclectic variety of stuff: classical, pop, rock, classical, blues, bluegrass, country. I'd like to get XM or Sirius and have a constant variety available.

Currently, I'm incessantly listening to Muse's new album, Absolution - they should've called it Perfection!

Cheers

Yeh that is a good album Martin, if a tad depressing.

I'm alternating between Scissor Sisters and Maroon 5.

Scissor Sisters are a bit .. well .. odd. Can't get the hang of them just yet.

Maroon 5 is good, I like the new single - This Love. However, I didn't really like their previous single, so I'm gonna wait for their next one before deciding of their album is worth *ahem* buying.

And indeed, Muse is a tad bit depressing, but just so damn good - it's been in my CD-player for a couple of weeks now!

Cheers

SS - def odd. hence why i like them :)

Maroon 5 - def worth buying.

Damian Rice is good for getting depressed to.

I hate depressing music....I like to listen to music and sing along and just be cheery. Depressing music obviously goes against the cheery part.

i like pretty much everything except country music and gangster rap. i love harry connick jr, beastie boys, debussy, tchaikovsky (spelling  ). bobby - i LOVED sonic youth when i was late teens. i have the wickedest pic of thurston moore in one of my old photo albums that i took when i snuck a camera into a small show they did here in vcr. i love sarah mclachlan, too. she's amazing

Classic rock (Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix), newer rock (Hives, White Stripes, REM), blues (Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker), jazz, j-pop (Yoko Kanno), romantic (Satie, Einaudi), classical (Orff, Holst, Bach, Wagner), OSTs (Escaflowne, LotR, Star Wars, Any Studio Ghibli film), game music (Zelda, Grim Fandango, Chrono Trigger, Metroid), Folk (Bob Dylan, Steel eye Span).

And much more...
