Necessary background for Darwin and Dawkins?

Hey,

I'm new here.

This might sound like a silly question but before reading "On the Origin of Species", and "The Selfish Gene", should I read something like biology or genetics for dummies?

Will I be lost is these books without any previous education in Bio?

It may help you to do that, but keep in mind that the intended audience for these books wasn't exactly familiar with modern biology or genetic theory, either ;-)

Then again I haven't read Darwin so maybe I shouldn't comment... :whistling:
