Necessary background for Darwin and Dawkins?

Hey,

I'm new here.

This might sound like a silly question but before reading "On the Origin of Species", and "The Selfish Gene", should I read something like biology or genetics for dummies?

Will I be lost is these books without any previous education in Bio?

Please Advise,
Thank You

You dont really need an education in biology to read Darwin, but if you have no interest in biology or science in general you will find it terribly boring. If you just want to find out what its about i suggest some biology textbook instead. Its more of a historic document for those with a special interest in biology.

i have interest i just didnt take any in high school because i had me heart set on other subjects and couldnt make room, so i just dropped my sciences.

And now im interested in reading it, so i was wondering if prior knowledge in bio was necessary,

thanks for the response
