New and better ways in which to tempt ....

... fate?

Okay, here we are -- a thunderstorm is brewing, with dark clouds massing, and what I think may be thunder sounding way off over there in the distance. I'm looking out over the lake, and of course some brave souls are still boating, but listen to this: there are people out there para-sailing --that is, being towed around in a sling that's hanging beneath a parachute that's trailing behind a boat.

Are they just asking to be hit by lightning, or what? Isn't that how Ben Franklin discovered electricity?

If lightning strikes, they should be alright as long as they don't touch down... in theory anyways.

I suppose that depends on what the rope is made of. If it's a conductor...ZZZZAP. Of course, thunder in the distance isn't the same as thunder overhead. They probably figure they've got 15 minutes or so before they need to get worried.

I think I may have just tempted -- something -- by hyphenating parasail!

:D
Yea, something along the lines of a battle royale like we had over beermat/Beer Mat/beer-mat (which, BTW, I've never even heard of).

LOL-Some people never learn. :D Those must have been the guys in high school who took turns riding on top of the car at high rates of speed and who generally did stupid things. Oh..wait....that was usually............. me:eek: In all seriousness, I love watching storms roll in, it's a beautiful thing really.
