Hello to everyone. I am so excited to become a member here. I love to read books, and I think it will be so much fun to converse about whatever I am reading at the time.

On a road trip I took last week from Chicago to Miami (FL), I stopped at Cincinnati. It's a beautiful place.

Welcome Amy to our forum.

Welcome Amy P, mother of two!

I visited your profile and saw one of your favorite books is 'The Red Tent'. Is this the story of the ill-fated attempt to reach the North Pole by balloon? (They made a film from this story starring Sean Connery, but it is seldom shown.)

I was just wondering.

No, it is not that story...lol. It is quite different. I is based back in BC times. It is quite interesting. I have only heard of mostly women reading this book. I am not sure if it would appeal to you or not. It is hard to describe. It has been a few years since I last read it. It is one of those so full of detail that I know I could read it again and still catch on to new things. Another one I really liked was "The Divinci Code", I did not see that movie.

Welcome to the forum Amy! What books do you like to read?
Hi Jasan,

I like to read just about anything. I have found myself mixed up in a few at the same time right now. I am trying to read Middlesex, War and Peace, and Vanishing Acts. I just finished The Quiet American, Gone With The Wind, Desiree, and Scarlett. These last few have made me interested in history. I think that it is so interesting that some of the major things that have happened in the past seem so long ago, yet it wasn't really that long ago if you look at it in perspective to the big pictures.
