I am "new" but old

I am new to this site for sure for sure....but it looks like fun.

I luv the winking eye! A friend, a psychologist, told me once ...you take life tooo seriously...relax. When you are too tied in knots go to the mirror and wink at yourself....you will have to laugh.....

I tried it and it worked so I now pass that on to others who need a release valve

....take life toooo seriously. Shhhhhhhhhh, I laugh a lot but I still take life seriously. I am trying to make up for those who don't.

I am not technical with this machine so I just made a boo boo with the spacing......

I will go find a "profile" site and enter some info there.....meanwhile, I am going to check around, get my feet wet and them come back for a swim.

Thanks for letting me in and glad I found a place to share.

Wish I knew what I am doing

are we automatically logged in as we enter this site
I have bookforums placed in "favorites"
when I click on where I want to go and I come here....I don't have to log in?

I can't find where to go to add a profile
and I don't know how to add interesting pictures or faces in my message

where do I go for help....this is a general statement open to anyone who will respond...

what is a "Tag"

THANKS

If you look up at the second blue banner running across the top of this page, you'll see the first option is 'User CP'. Click on that and it will open up your profile options. Down the left hand side are all your various options for editing your profile.

If you want to add images to your posts, then just above the window where you type your post is a little box
insertimage.gif
that will open up the image tag. Paste in the URL for your image and then click the box again.

When you log in, if I recall correctly, there's a little tick box that says something like 'remember me'. If you have it ticked, then everytime you log in from the same PC you will already be signed into the forum. If you don't want to be signed in, then go back up to that blue banner at the top, and click 'Log Out'. You should then be allowed to sign back in again, while making sure the remember me box isn't filled in.

The forum FAQ is here... http://support.thebookforum.com/index.php?x=&mod_id=2 and should explain how most things work.

If you have any other problems you should probably try posting in the Website feedback section. :)

WHO KNOWS....what will pop up as I "play" with learning the ropes in here

Thank you Litany I have made a beginning with a few things learned thanks to you.

I ordered UNFIT TO COMMAND yesterday. I am curious.

I love to read everything from fiction, biographies, cookbooks and children's literature.

I have a collection of books some over 100 years old. On the internet I found the first set of readers I had in school and the first my folks purchased for our home; McGuffey readers and CHILDCRAFT of the 1940's.

Last week I received part of the TARZAN series. Fantasy is fun too.

I have books lying around all over the house and have bookcases groaning with need for expansion. I am getting ready for books to go out of print and the internet to take over....but books....they are friends and adventures.

See you all later........Barbara/Christmas :D

Christmas, when you think you've figured everything out, you can test everything in the Testing Area.

Oh, and by the way, I made you your very own Thread!

Welcome to the Boards!

Cheers

Darn This Slow Horse I Been Riding

I think the horse has thrown a shoe or either I got on backwards.

Thank you for the responses and welcomes......

I do not have the best vision and age or vision i am having to adjust and learn how to use this site

don't give up on me, unless my name appears on role call (st. peters) I will keep on and slowly very sloooooowly I will adjust.

I remember the first time I got on the computer and went to a chat room for seniors......I got hung up in a private message section and didn't know how to get out.....it was like being in jail with no key.....

Wabbit......I love your name........I like silly wabbits........... :D
