Novels, Plays or Poems

For GCSE I have to study Of Mice and Men (novel), Blood Brothers (play) and a selection of poems. If you go into a bookstore what do you generally look for, novels, plays or poems? I probably could have phrased this better but what do you prefare?

I look for novels. I don't care for poetry and I just don't like reading plays in my head. They make me want to line my friends up and give them all a part.

Good luck with Blood Brothers though. It is a really great play!

I only read novels. I don't like poetry much and I honestly never think to pick up a play. In my mind, plays were just what we had to study in school. Thinking about it, reading a play is kind of weird, isn't it? They are meant to be performed, you watch them, not read them. Well, that's what I think anyway!

I usually go for novels and occasionally poems or collections. I only read plays if somebody highly recommends to me, which is pretty rare.

i'm looking for novels too, i like poetry but i mostly read it on the net, and plays are not for me, except shakespeare which i love!

what are you looking for?

I go for the novels as well. The only poetry I really read is one the net or if we happen to have a poetry book lying around. There's a couple of those.

I never think about looking for plays. I don't mind reading them though.

I'm more of a novel person myself, but I really like Blood Brothers, we read it as a class group which is probably better then reading it by yourself. We went to see the play as well, it was awesome! Even though I knew the ending I still cried. I like poems too though especially by Edgar Allen Poe.

Can't help looking at novels as that's what I trip over as soon as I go through the doors. However, I always browse the poetry section as I love poetry. Am enjoying Carol Ann Duffy right now.
