Old Money

Was wrecking the house yesterday looking for a CD and, tucked away in cupboard I found some old money: some Danish, Polish, and Portuguese coins, and a 10 Guilden note.

Bloody worthless!

How much worthlessness do you own?

How much worthless stuff? Do you mean in general or in terms of just money? :)

As for money. I have a Spanish 1,000 Pesetas note and many coins in pesetas!

I have about 3 dollor notes and probably that much in cents :D Although, I guess they are not acutally worthless... Although, with good 'ol G W in power they are arn't worth as much as they used to be and getting more worthless all the time :D

It was an old Delgados album called Hate. It's MIA although I have the case. I don't remember ever listening to it. :(

OOOOOOOOOOOH! I HATE THAT!

I do that all the time. I can find the case but the CD/DVD/TAPE has gone the way of the socks and pens :(

I've got a 1000 kronur note from Iceland and a 1 riyal note from Saudi arabia.
And yesterday I got a 1 euro coin in some change but I'll spend that when I go to Greece on Friday.

I suppose it goes into the great mysteries of the world such as where the hell is my Front 242 CD and my μ-ziq album. I still have the cases.

Have a good one! :)

Yeah, I have lots of cases floating around here and nothing to go in them. I blame the sock elves!

I did. He took them for a run around the block, made them do push ups but still have the same problem  Exorcising them just make no difference!

Hmmm, I've several old coins at home, including ha'penny's, thrupence, shillings, sixpence, half crown, old £1 notes etc :)

:D My great-aunt gave them to me when I was young and I've kept hold of them ever since.

gerontophile?

Is that a word for a lover of old things in general? Because, if my Greek doesn't fail me, it actually stems from the word for old man, no?

Incidentally, how do you type Greek characters in here? The usual key shortcuts just produce a Roman-alphabet transliteration.

Yes, a gerontophile is a lover of the elderly.

If I want to type Greek or Russian I change my keyboard to that language. Or, if it's the computer in work where I can't edit a damn thing I copy the alphabet from a website and pick the letters I need. :)

How are you pronouncing 'μ-ziq'? I'm guessing 'music' but I'm probably wrong again.
