Old sci-fi book with plane pilot on another planet

Hello. I can't remember title or author of an old sci-fi book, I read about 20 years ago. I remember that main character was an aeroplane (not rocket) pilot, who felt to sleep. Than he wake's up and lands on different planet. There people had 3 jobs, working every just 2 hours a day. One was in production, one in art the third as I remember was in science. Sistem on this planet was utopical. Everithing was great. I remember also that children on certain age went to journey around their world to find out what they would like to do as adult. I remember also that this main character returned to Earth the same way, as he left it. He felt to sleep flying an aeroplane again, and landed home on Earth.

It might be, that the other planet was in our solar sistem, but on the other side of the sun.
