Hi there, i've been browsing around this forum for a couple of days and had to register. I'm actually an artist (painting and what not), but only recently have I been really interested in reading fiction in my spare time. I also have an burgeoning interest in writing fiction myself. Right now i'm at chapter 57 of Umberto Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum." Anybody read this yet? Can anyone drop me any hints as to how far I am from getting to the REALLY juicy stuff? I've already been blown away (almost too hard) by the sheer amount of history and esoterica in the novel, and it seems that now, in the middle of it, the characters don't seem to be on the huge quest I thought they would be on by now, although there's slight hints of it here and there. Anyways, this seems like a great board. Hope I can find the time to post.

Hi
Sorry, I've never read Eco, but I like your photographs. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Welcome

I am afraid it does not get any more juicy. I like Eco’s style precisely because of all the references and I love Foucalt’s Pendulum, but I know many people who found too much maths and science in it for their liking.

clueless is right I'm afraid. I was still a very good read.

Welcome! (Do I even have the right to welcome? I mean, I've only been here a day myself.)
