Please be careful where you donate.....

Makes you wonder how these people have the nerve to do this type of thing! Scum of the earth

Yeah... there were warnings after 9/11 too! Like, be careful where you donate when trying to help aid New York... It's sickening really. :(

Just yesterday while driving, I saw a house on a busy street, with a homemade sign in the front yard that read, "Taking donations for Hurricane Katrina Victims here." Maybe it was legit, but I didn't feel compelled to pull in a donate.. So many churches, businesses, and tv & radio stations are doing projects, I can't see why anyone would think they had to give to some individual who put a homemade sign in their yard.

There were guys standing at an intersection where I live with buckets collecting "spare change" for Katrina Relief. They had Red Cross signs hanging around their necks....I would still rather cut a check and send it directly to The Red Cross than trust a complete stranger on a street corner. Sad to think they could be pocketing the money, but who knows.....I'd rather error on the side of the Red Cross than line some dip-shits pockets with my coins and bills.....

Why can't they have a co-ordinated appeal, like the Disaster Appeal in the UK, formed by the Red Cross and other organisations? That way people know it's legit and it saves money in admin costs, so more money goes to help the victims.
