Hi. I'm new here and am excited to join the community. Does anybody have any suggestions for good fiction or non-fiction (please indicate which one) on poverty and/or homelessness in developed countries?
One of my major areas of study in school was urban American history, so I've got tons of them.
Tally's Corner - Liebow How the Other Half Lives - Riis Death at an Early Age - Kozol Amazing Grace - Kozol
All are about different aspects of poverty in American cities and most of them tie in ethnic/racial prejudice and the part it plays here. If I looked through my stacks I could probably come up with more, but these are the first I would suggest.
