Q&A thread: its that a real fact?

mr_michel

kickbox
sometimes we read in novels, references to real life, which we can't be sure are for real  , or we heard rummors about things we though to be fantasies being for real.

so lets try to solve each others doubts in this thread
let me put an example (and first question in the thread) ;)

in Kane & Abel by jeffrey archer, its mentions that the main characters are based in real persons, but didnt say who for privacy reasons, a couple years ago a pal of mine, told me he once saw a biography tv show about some hotel chain founder, and it was said that he was inspiration for one of the characters in the novel, but he didnt remember who was it
so my question would be anyone knows who this two gents are?

feel free to ask new questions even if you dont answer the last one

enjoy :)

since this thread has been such a sucess  ill post a second question:

in the book "river god" by Wilbur Smith its tell that its actually a novelization of the scrolls depicted in the same novel, its the finding of such scrolls for real?

im feeling lonely in this thread, so here its a new question.

im halfway trough "captains and the kings" by taylor cadwell, i read somewhere in the imdb forums that its based on the kenedy clan, im not familiar with the kenedy's history, so could someone tell me how true its that?

Sorry, I can't answer any or your questions. I saw the light on & thought I'd drop by for milk and cookies.

You...do have cookies?

I'm be more than happy to invent answers for your questions, if someone doesn't come up with the goods soon.

Although Smith has implied that the scrolls (written by Taita about his beloved Lostris) are based on historical fact, many scholars have disputed this claim for a variety of reasons.
