Rani Manicka: The Rice Mother

I just finished The Rice Mother last night. Have any of you read it? I found it by accident while looking for something else at the library. Now I feel as though I've been to Malaysia and sat down to table with three generations of a cursed family. They spoke of unspeakable sorrows, injustice, jealousy, and cruelty, guilt, perserverance, and hope. I highly recommend it.

Memory jog... Ah yes I do have a copy of this book I picked it up a while back and it's been patiently waiting ever since. It's now off the bookshelf and on my desk. I'll let you know what I think about it.
