I was quite surprised to see this line under the moniker of our fellow bibliophile.

Currently Reading: nuthin'- HELP!

Now folks, I don't know about you, but where I'm from-friends don't let friends go without books.

So, what book(s) should abecedarian be reading?

The Year of the Angry Rabbit, by Russel Braddon
Satire is good, but pair it with giant killer bunnies? What's not to love?

:innocent: Um, I posted that three weeks ago...and I have been reading a little here and there..partway through Listen Here:Women Writing in Appalachia-ed. Sandra L. Ballard & Patricia L. Husdon and I'm also reading A Sane Woman's Guide to Raising a Large Family by Mary Ostyn. On my dresser politely waiting its turn is This Book is Overdue! by Marilyn Johnson. I've just neglected to change my status.
I also have a good list of books winging their way here via interlibrary loan:

7 Kinds of Smart:Identifying and Developing Your Multiple Intelligences by Thomas Armstrong

Family Feasts for $75 Week:A Penny-wise Mom Shares Her Recipe for Cutting Hundreds from Your Monthly Food Bill-Mary Ostyn(with ten kids, she speaks MY language!)

Learning in Spite of the Labels-Joyce Herzog

Multisensory Teaching of Basi Language Skills

Noah's Compass-Anne Tyler

Overcoming Dsyslexia:A New and Complete Science-based Program for Reading Problems at Any Level-Sally Shaywitz

That said...I'm glad SFG posted this thread. Keep those suggestions coming, folks! By the time I work thru this list, I'll be dying for something GOOD to read:flowers:

I don't remember if you've read Willy Vlautin, abc? If not, I think you'd enjoy The Motel Life and Northline. I wrote a bit about them here.
