PLEASE HELP!
Have recently finished "Birdsong" by Sebastien Faulks, and as I finished the last page, I felt an overwhelming desire to become a part of the characters lives again, I turned to the front to read it once more, but had to restrain myself so I did not continue. The emotion in this book is incredibly powerful and I am deeply moved by the relationships in this and "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" by Louis De Bernieres.

I Was hoping some of you may have read these two books, or one of them, and could offer me advice on another book that is similar and will move me as much or more?

P.S. I am having withdrawal symptoms from Birdsong, hurry, I can't hold on much longer...

i haen't read those two books, but i have suffered withdrawl symptoms from books myself. i dunno what those two books are about, but i'll reccommend some books to you anyway. warning: you can get very attached to those books, i did. one of them is the count of monte cristo. also, the bartimaeus trilogy is very good.

I read Birdsong a while back - it was recommended to me by a woman I worked with, and was her favourite book. I didn't particularly like it though. But as far as similar books, how about Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier? IIRC it's quite similar - but I did a fair bit of skimming, as it wasn't my type of book either.

Maybe you could try some of Faulks' other books, to see if they are of a similar emotion?
