I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. This is definitely one of those "can't put it down" types that you really get into at midnight and can't stop reading. While it's a spy thriller, it's a good historical fiction spy thriller. Cordell Hull and other prominent Roosevelt officials are mentioned in the reading and that made it all the more interesting to me. Two thumbs up.:flowers:

After I read Road to Gandolfo,I said to myself it was the first and last of Ludlum. Have you read it? and if yes, which one is better?

(welcome back btw)

Surprisingly, that is the one book of his that was not included in the library book sale. I have just about every one of them though, I pulled in a god haul. I am currently reading The Bourne Identity however, and can tell you that it's head and shoulders above The Scarlatti Inheritance. Not that the latter was a bad book, quite the opposite really. On the wikipedia entry for The Bourne Identity, there was a paragrpah that mentioned that it was the #2 all time spy novel as rated by *experts*(whoever those people are):)

It's a good thing they picked Matt Damon over Dany DeVito for the movie.:lol:Though I'll try and picture DeVito in my mind's eye.:D
