Stewart,
I'm writing about a trend in posting that needs to come to an end. In a number of recent threads new members and some established members have taken offence to the rude treatment of posters seen as "not up to par". We've had requests both public and private to act. While we certainly understand how frustrating it is when people join simply for homework help or use slang or text speak, everyone needs to treat them with more respect. There is nothing wrong with politely informing a member that you don't understand slang terms they are using, or informing them that they will find better results when forming a query in English rather than text speak. However, rude, confrontational or otherwise nasty behavior will no longer be tolerated here and we will begin issuing warnings for such. We will also delete this type of post in the future without warning or explanation.
If you have any question about any of this, please feel free to contact any of the moderators or Darren.
Thank You,
The Book and Reader Moderation Team
So, who are these silent members who report every little thing rather than show the cojones to argue back their point?
