Rutherfurd's "The Forest" would make a great movie, I think

Has anyone read "The Forest" by Edward Rutherfurd? I've just finished the first chapter, The Hunt (each chapter is a story in it itself and very long), and I think the first part, at least, would make an excellent period film with romance, suspense, action, and political intrigue all in one. Here are my choices for the characters (or at least the ones that I imagined as I read)

Lady Adela- Keira Knightley
Edgar- Heath Ledger
Hugh de Martell- Jason Isaacs
Cola, Edgar's Father- Sean Connery
Godwin Pride- Kenneth Branagh
Puckle- Sean Bean

Any thoughts? Anyone read it or heard of it?

I have this at home, haven't read it yet. Enjoyed London well enough. Perhaps I'll read this next.

I really enjoyed the book, its certainly one of my favourites of his - I have Sarum to read next when I get the chance - not too sure about it being made into a film though, certainly not all of it - it would be too confusing the way each chapter moves the story forward a couple of hundred years. I found that when I read it, I kept referring back to the tree to see how everyone was linked :) I really enjoy historic fiction
