Check this out. It's the official website for the new horror-flick The Grudge, which is very likely to suck ass.

That said, the site is quite scary. I'd like to add that I entered this site in the middle of the night, in a dark and empty house, with the sound turned up too far for my own good.

If you do the same, this site will scare you once or twice.

I just saw the trailer, too, and it also looks a bit like The Ring. The website is quite nifty, though. I definitely had quite a few scares walking through that house.

we, Elizeberth and i, would turn down the Tv whenever the trailer showed. then she peered behind her books, and i behind the cushion, holding breathes, without movement. and partick, the annoying cat, crept on the sofa. :eek:

it was said it was adapated from or combined with a japanes movie.
 
basically, sam raimi, the director of evil dead and spiderman, got the original director of ju-on (the grudge) to remake his own film for western audiences.
 
it came out yesterday, but I probably won't see it until next weekend. I just hope sarah michelle gellar dies at the end.
 
Saw the film last week. It was okay but didn't really go anywhere. Best Japanese horror is still Audition.
 
I just saw it tonight. It was pretty good, though hard to follow and not as scary as I would have hoped...scared my friends pretty bad though. It was a lot like the ring, and definately Japanese originally. Won't give it away though. Did you see the trailers for The Ring Two?
 
Incidentally, my avatar is a clip from Japanese film A Snake of June - itself a nice piece of film making by the guy who did Tetsuo: The Iron Man.

well poeple, i just watched last night THE GRUDGE, it was scary in a way. i mean it had a few thing that would pop up and scare ya, but nothing like "im gonna have a heart attack" scary. i guess i would say if your able to see it, or if it comes out in your area, go see it, but i mean it really makes no sense. if i new how it was b4, i wouldnt think id want to see it.

Must be an American remake then Abulafia. Third one out already? wow. any good?

Damnit I forget who posted just before this...but so you saw it too? It really didn't make too much sense, did it? I mean if you resign yourself to the fact that not everything will make sense, it's tolerable...but still not my favorite. Did any one see The Village? Very good, though not at all scary.

Just looked at the site. I didn't realise you were talking about a remake as opposed to the original Japanese.

I hate it when Hollywood remakes movies. I've felt this way ever since the Dutch film Spoorloos was ruined in its remake The Vanishing.
