Seer King Trilogy

I am currently reading the seer king by chris bunch, I think it takes at least three chapters to get in to the story but once you are there it's a very good read.

As far as I'm concerned, the best triology ever. I've read them a number of times, and intend to do so again very soon, and loved it all. Contains everything I look for in a book; depth, variation, and a good solid length to allow you to get into it.
Enjoy them, and make sure you keep them in good condition because if you're like me you'll be wanted to read them again soon!
They are the only military fantasy I've ever read, but would love suggestions to others as I came across this set by accident and hope there are more like it out there?

I've heard a little bit about this book, mostly about the graphic sex-scenes it contains. Do you think that they hinder the story or seem to just be fillers that serve no real purpose to the book? Just want to hear more about the book before I decide to read it.

Yes the sex scenes do hinder the story a lot and me for one don't think it is part of the story, to tell you the truth i will be glad when i have finished them, the reason i am still reading it i want to see what happens. Although there has been a few times i just wanted to drop them and start reading another book.

Thanks for the reply :) I have heard this a lot, but just wanted it confirmed. I won't be adding it to my TBR list then.

I'm going to disagree, but not wholly. While you could probably read the book skipping all the sexual scenes without missing much (if any) of the actual story line, I feel they do build up a picture of the relationships of the characters. Sometimes they do become a little frequent and unnecessary but certain parts do bring the interactions of the characters on a long way.
So I'm going to sit on the fence and be an accepting volunteer to Bunch's writing style; if they weren't there, I wouldn't notice, and they aren't crucial to making the book what it is, but it becomes the style of the book; covering every aspect of what the characters do; what they eat, drink, and the things they do with other characters (sexual or otherwise). Personally, no matter how badly I justified it just there, I don't feel they hinder the story line at all, even if they don't always push it forward in great leaps and bounds. Still comes highly recommended by myself, but what do I know!
