Piracy eh?

Excellent point. When you buy a book, the folks involved with that particular book get their due. When you check out a book, the local library benefits and the above mentioned people associated with the book benefit as it was purchased. With this whole e-thing, I don't see how it wouldn't be piracy unless you paid for it. Now if you paid for it and then gave it freely to other folks, then I'm not certain how that would be an honest practice.

While I agree with everything said, I just wanted to point something out. Wouldn't what SFG just said above relate to you buying a book and then lending it to someone once you have finished? There is no difference between that and what alfinge is doing, as long as alfinge paid for the books first. In that case, is it still a problem, or is lending out books dishonest too? That could mean that the library is at the centre of a crime ring

I always had a sneaking suspicion about library ladies in knitted sweaters cavorting around at night.

junkie: "You've got any Dostoyevsky??"

Librarian: "Shhhhhh!, follow me.

Books handed over fromthe librarian's heavy coat
Junkie: "Thank you!"

Librarian: "shhhhhh!"
:D :D :D :D
