Breaks your heart, doesn't it? :( :( :(

I know - especially the way the mother just stands there, looking down. She has no clue.

:( :( :(

I sincerely hope that the person who stood there taking the photos lifted the grate off the drain and fished the ducklings out.

Though it looks a little Photoshop-ish to me.

I dunno. Something about the duckling in the 2nd photo, where he's about to fall through the grate. The lighting on that one doesn't look quite right. And it seems like the openings in the grate are a shade too small. Looks like if one started to fall through, either his chest would stop him or he would at least stick his neck out.

Maybe it's just me trying to be optimistic.

Actually what you don't see is the exact spot where the little ones were all huddled together in the first picture, I don't think. Maybe they're still there. (I HAVE to be optimistic here! LOL)

OH, no---.

those cute little ducks.

did it really happen? are these ducks yours, the duck you once mentioned who happened to enter into your place?

after you once said in a post, I was wondering how has it been doing? you did not cook it, right? ;)

No no, I brought it to a petting zoo a couple of months ago. The people over there commended us for keeping a duck that young alive for as long as we did. She also said it'd be happy there, because they had another young ducklet running around - it has a friend now.

I'm happy if it's happy.

Cheers, Martin

Ah, glad to know he/she has a friend with her/him. (seems i worry too many 'useless' things. :( )

and glad to know you did not cook it. :p
