Some songwords by Billy O.

Following On.

Following on
From the last great love affair
Following On
From the last time my heart was broken.

Following on
Following dreams and chasing rainbows.

Falling stars
Falling stars
Stars fall down into the ocean.

Stars fall down on railway stations
Dreams fall down like final curtains
And I feel like death
But I can’t be certain.

Following on
Like the screams in the night of a loser
Who’s dreaming of being there.

Following on
Like the tears in the eyes of a child
When it finds out that nothing’s fair.

Following on.

Love Has Wings.

All I want to do is look at you all through the night
I don’t want to touch and I don’t want to taste
Just want to waste myself on you
If that’s all right,
And I don’t want you to love me
Please don’t fall,
I’m not going to love you
Not at all,
I just want to waste myself on you all through the night.

And when I think of her
When I remember love
I remember love has wings and love has flown away.
And when I think of love
When I remember her
Then I can taste her sweet blood on my lips again.
And if I try real hard then I don’t think of her at all,
I remember love has wings and love has flown away
I remember love has wings
And love has flown.

Fallen Angel.

In the still of the night
I was dreaming of falling
I was dreaming of waking
Waking to anger again.

And in the heat of the morning
I awakened to anger
I awakened to hatred
I awakened to pain.

But now I’m tired of hating
And I’m tired of hurting
God knows I’m tired of it all
Tired of waiting for the fall.

And when I fall
I want to fall like Lucifer
I want to fall like an angel
I want to fall like the star of the morning
I want to fall like the morning star
And I want to burn with the light of a million suns.

Devilishly handsome and talented too. :) But I already knew that.

Still love "Crocodile Tears" and "Falling Apart" best of all. Perhaps you'll be nice and share those lyrics too?

I have no recall of ever writing a song called "Falling Apart". I did write a song called "Civilisation" which is about falling apart. Is that the one you mean?
But, seeing as how the request has come from my favourite American Girl here are the words:

Crocodile Tears.

When I smile at you your face lights up,
And when I blow you a kiss you just hang your head and blush,
And when it’s time to go you don’t say much,
You just smile and wave goodbye.
And when I go to bed at night,
I close my eyes, I go to sleep and I dream,
I dream about me, I never dream about you,
And I don’t cry no crocodile tears.

Civilisation.

Just when things were falling apart,
Somebody told me that you had fallen in love again,
Somebody told me that you had fallen head over heels again,
And somebody told me that you still had a picture of me
that you keep in your breast pocket,
And somebody told me that love lay just around the corner,
Yes somebody told me that love lay just around the corner,
And then somebody told me that love was falling apart.

Just when things were falling apart,
Somebody told me ‘bout a land of peace,
With flocks of sheep and things like that you know,
The lions laying down with the lambs
And everybody singing and praying real loud, with a fanatical gleam in their eyes,
And somebody told me that heaven lay just around the corner,
Yes somebody told me this heaven lay just around the corner,
And then somebody told me that heaven was falling apart.

Just when things were falling apart,
Somebody told me technology held the key to the future of man,
They said a bio chip in the head is worth two in the sand,
Well la da da da……
Oh yes somebody told me civilisation lay just around the corner,
Yes television told me civilisation lay just around the corner,
And then somebody told me civilisation was falling apart.

But nobody told me how to stop things falling apart,
And it’s all falling apart.

Of course song words aren't p[oetry and don't always read properly on the page. when I read them I can hear the music but I guess if you don't know the music then I must come across as a real misery-guts. For those not au fait with the musical side of Billy Oblivion I'd like to point out the music is up beat and generally fast; I write the lyrics when I'm down but I wait for happiness to come calling before I write the music. Mostly.
Also, when I'm writing the lyrics I usually start with a one or two word inspiritation so songs aren't necessarily about what they appear to be about (although some are). Here are some examples: Following On was written on a railway station and it occurred to me that railway stations have been some of the loneleliest places in my life. Love Has Wings is a dirty joke that always makes me and Johnny Cowboy (guitarist) snigger when we perform it live. Fallen Angel was inspired by spotting Venus in the morning sky one romantic dawn. Crocodile Tears is a true story. Civilisation was written because I liked the words "breast pocket" and wanted to put them in a song. Of course once the songs are finished they end up meaning, and being about, completely different things to how they started.
Is all that clear? I think I might have made it all up as I went along. Or perhaps it's a true artistic insight. Who knows? Still I least I didn't mention the penguins. Oh damn! That ruined it!
