something i think about

hi!
in the last time i came across a lot of things connected with suicide or selfdestructiveness,
for example there is a band that made a song names BLEED LIKE ME

Avalanche is sullen and too thin
she starves herself to rid herself of sin
and the kick is so divine
when she sees bones beneath her skin
and she says
Hey baby can you bleed like me
c'mon baby can you bleed like me

...

Doodle takes dad's scissors to her skin
and when she does relief comes setting in
while she hides the scars she's making
underneath her pretty clothes
she sings
...

there is more to this song, but that was the episode that really got me. I don't know maybe you know people who cut themselves, or thought about suicide or maybe you're one of them. Or somebody close to you died... How do you stop this people or how do you learn to accept it, because this bull about with the time it gets better is not really the line i wnat to take, so i ask YOU, What would you do, feel, say, think...

Those kinds of private hell come from deep, deep pains and a feeling that the pain will never go away. "Cutting" as it's called, is a way to release the tension when the pain is too great. The physical sensation of pain provides an escape from or an outlet for the emotional pain. The problem for anyone on the outside is, you can't control someone else's behavior. Like drug addictions or alcoholism, it's something the individual has to address before anyone else can be of any help. Frequently, people who cut are young women (high school and college-aged) and they are very good at hiding it. They are usually "good girls" who go to school and make good grades and never give their parents any problems...they often see seeking help as a sign of "failure."

All an outsider can do, in my opinion, is be supportive, encourage a person like this to seek help, and listen when they want to talk.

The internet is a funny place. Individuals who mistreats their body (by for example cutting or starving themselves) because they possibly feel like outcasts can join large communities with people who do the same and receive advice how to continue with what they’re doing.

For songs about suicide I recommend "Why Kill Time (When You Can Kill Yourself)" by Cabaret Voltaire and "Collective Suicide" plus "Love Breeds Suicide" by Suicide Commando.

yeah, i'm just wondering, i have a friend and, yes she is a girl, who cuts herself. the thing about that, that really gets me worried is that normally, if you don't really know her, she is funny, always in a good mood, helps whenever she can, and just below the surface she is so unhappy that she has to hurt herself to continue with her life, i mean she brings happyness and joy to a lot of people, but she feels bad inside...
I think it is the same, when poeple talk about suicide that are people they want to be rescued, they love their life... but people you think are happy and they love life are the ones you should pay attention to, because this are the people who in the end, end up lying drained in their bathtubs

do you have experience with that?
