Stories that come true

novella

Last night I came home and my power was out. It was out all night and most of the day. Maybe my Jerry story is coming true.

This has happened to me a couple of times in the past, under most unusual circumstances. Once I made up an entire plot, purely fictional, about a mafios with a weekend house in my town, and after I had done a lot of writing on it, I went to do some research on Hunts Point wholesale market (huge truckers' fruit market in NYC) corruption (part of my plot), and it turned out the head mafia boss of that scene actually had a house near me and raised his kids locally under a different name (part of my plot). It was truly weirder than this, with several uncanny coincidences. In the end I trashed the story because I thought it would cause me trouble.

I have another one, even weirder and more personal.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Just be glad you don't write horror. Or do you? If my stories came true I'd go insane, well... more insane. What I write never comes true; mostly I write about unusual occurances that do, or can, come true.

Not to me, but Have you thought it maybe to do with your Reading: tea leaves, palms, and tarot cards... I say this as someone my son knew was having all sorts of strange things happen (he was also Reading: tea leaves, palms, and tarot cards etc) But it all stopped when he packed it up.
Just a thought, as shame if it is stopping you writing.

The tea leaves thing is just a joke. I'm not into the paranormal at all. I used to post which book I was reading, but it seemed to be out of date too quickly.

And, no, this hasn't stopped me from writing. I'm fairly prolific, in fact.
