Teacher & Author in MA

Hello Everyone!

I just signed on to the site tonight and so far it looks like a great place! I got the link from BookCrossing.com so there may be some familiar people around here.

Anyway, I work full time in MA as a 4th grade teacher...a great job for many reasons. Of course you get the stress and frustrations that come with any job, but the benefits far outweigh the negatives. I live with my best pal, Boomer the yellow lab, and I am an avid fan of all my Boston sports...a true passion for me.

Aside from teaching, I am also an author. I just had my first novel published for young readers: "The Sea Shack". So far the comments and reviews from kids and adults alike have been great, but it just came out a few weeks ago so we'll see how it goes...I just hope the good news keeps coming in. If you want to learn more about the book...or more about myself...please feel free to visit the website: www.theseashack.com I always appreciate curious readers stopping in. =)

Anyway...the site looks like a lot of fun and I am eager to get involved. Thanks for allowing me to say hello and I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Beowolf, wow, reminds me of the poem I learned long time ago. It is a great poem, though almost forgot the exact words. :(

WELCOME!!1 :) And Enjoy.

I found some super-funny + super-interesting people here. They are very nice and friendly, and accepting, and------etc.

PS:Silly-wabbit and Martin are my favorits. :cool: :eek:

BESTS ;)

Welcome from me too! I saw in another post about your ancestry. I think I might look that book up. Sounds interesting.

Book

Your book looked interesting-- I have a fourth-grader living in my house and look at all children's books through the lens of "Would-Liz-like-it?" I also didn't imagine "running into" someone on the Internet who knows Fitchburg, MA.

Fitchburg... =)

Yes, I am quite familiar with Fitchburg, MA. Not only did I get my Master's from Fitchburg State, but my roomate at Boston College for 4 years was from Fitchburg so I made numerous trips out that way. I actually think it is one of the better areas of Massachusetts out that way....a nice distance from the city and some real nice towns in the area to visit and enjoy. Fitchburg has its rough spots, but the area in general is pretty cool. Glad you made a connection!
