I got this book when I was younger to practise reading in english and it's still one of my favourites today.

Sparknotes has a study guide for it.

There's also a sequel titled 'Beyond the Chocolate War'.
 
I read this book about a month ago. When i first read this one i really did not like it. I was also surprised at how many masturbation referances where in it, in my opinion they really did not need to put that many in there, but i am not going to *cry over spilt milk* as it were, it also surprised me that this book was on my grade 9 *recommended* read list for english just because it was such an easy read. But never the less this has become one of my favorite books as i look back on it even if i dont like how it ends.

All in all id give it 8 on a scale from 1-10
