Seems they are making a movie of Michel Faber's novel crimson petal in the white

Reading this at the moment and enjoying it a lot. A huge part of my enjoyment is the prose and style of the book, so I'm not sure how good the movie would be. And anyway, I almost normally always prefer the book to the movie.

As long as they are faithful to the book - including the ending. Will be interesting to see how the postmodern companion is integrated.

Maybe in a "blade runner" style voice over? I think it will be really difficult to transfer the novel to the big screen.

Also, the novel is very graphic in it's depiction of poverty and sex. It's also not shy about using swear words including and not limited to the four letter F and C words. I just can't seem them including those details.

I really don't think they can the book any justice. They can port over the bare story, but that's it. The novel is so much more.
