According to Don McLean, February 3rd 1959, the day an airplane carrying musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper crashed, killing all three was "The day the music died".
However, I'm going to nominate today for that title after reading this article: http://www.nme.com/news/109324.htm.

No. No, no, no, no. This is a joke, right? please tell me it's a joke.

Still haven't heard of him, but given Ian's epileptic tendencies, it may prove to be the broken radiator's most challenging movie role yet. I've never seen an electrical appliance rattle and roll on stage...

Talking about the great Buddy Holly and Don McLean. Two weeks ago I requested the library to order the music CD's....The Buddy Holly Collection and The Legendary Songs Of Don McLean. They ordered the CD's and I am waiting for them to arrive and I am the first on the library's list. :)
