The Last Templar - Explanation Needed

Could someone explain the "twist" on the last page of Raymond Khoury's - The Last Templar. I read reviews before reading the book about this great twist on the last page of the epilogue, only to read the book and get to the last page and not even understand it. If you have any insight as to what he is saying could you fill me in.

I re-read the last 10 pages several times after I posted this a year ago. I believe it was to explain that Faith has some good in the world, even though that faith is not based on reality.

It was a weird book all around. The only part I liked was the begining with the Templars, after that was just downhill for me and the ending , (which was what? I am still wondering) was confusing. An old question Is there a God? or was it all set up by people ? Annoying book.

I read that book a long time ago and can't remember anything about it. Only that I didn't have an issue with understanding the end.

I have read many "Templar" books and they are all blurring together for me.
