There is this old story, known mostly by Miamians, of a lighthouse in Cape Florida - just east of Biscayne Key - that tells the story of its guardians and their valiant defense of that beautiful lighthouse (point) against invading mariners - the ruthless Spaniards.
I do not know the fine details of the old tale, I only have the general points of the story. It's a story of velar, pride, and high drama.
The story stirs in me a great desire to write, as a historical piece (novel, maybe), it in all it's dramatic splendor.
I also have an itch to write another historically sound story about The Lost Children of the Alleghenies (Google search this one).
I also have a totally fictionalize story I made-up about a fast-paced adventure, set in the eastern coast of the Amazon, of a group of university students seeking a great treasure captured by wild natives after Juan Rodrigo Bermejo's ship - the Pinta of Columbus fame - when the vessel ventured, for the very first time (discovery), of Brazil. The threesome (band of students) kidnaps a native boy in order to follow a direct trail through the jungle to the gold. It goes on-and-on....
My story ideas are plentiful. Now if I can only write them down to my satisfaction.
