Even the world's greatest man,
Could be stranded on an island,
And some would tell us not to save him,
And they would say so smiling,
And as they held a cocky glass,
Sporting their latest style,
They'd say to leave the poor man there,
And leave him be a while,
They'd say "if great a man he was"
"He'd surely find a way,"
"To save himself, so rest assured,"
"We needn't stir today,"
"Let the genius build a boat,"
"Although there are no trees,"
"He'll fashion well a sandy ship,"
"To sail across the sea,"
"Meanwhile, we can rest at home,"
"With sound philosophy,"
"There is no need for us to save,"
"A genius lost at sea,"
But while the genius thought upon,
The problem there at hand,
He could have brought invention,
To the people of the land,
Still they spurned and left behind,
A man whose thoughts were much more kind
