The Three Jugs Problem

You have three jugs. They hold:

Jug 1: 8 litres
Jug 2: 5 litres
Jug 3: 3 litres

You start with Jug 1 full to the brim, so 8 litres, and the aim is to get 4 litres in Jug 2 with the remaining 4 litres left in Jug 1.

You can't pour water down the drain, or fill up with a tap or anything like that.

So how do you do it?

I can't be bothered to write it all out.

Isn't this a variation of the puzzle in one of the Die Hard movies (the one with Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson)?
